The
Slovak Chamber of Dentists
The Slovak Chamber of Dentists (the Chamber uses the abbreviation SKZL), as the successor organisation of the Civil Association of the Medical Chamber of Dentists in the Slovak Republic, was established by the Act No. 13/92.
The
graphical symbol of the Chamber is the dental medulla illustrated as Mobius loop
drawn in a virtual triangle with one horizontal side. It symbolises
indivisible mutual relations among dentistry , dentists and patient.
The
Slovak Chamber of Dentists associates the dentists in the Slovak Republic,
supports their interests and protects their professional honour, participates at
the creation of the conditions and increasing of the professional level of the
dental treatment provided. The Chamber creates the conditions for the
improvement of the oral health of the Slovak Republic citizens. It protects and
develops the independent performance of the occupation of a dentist having
a significant public importance and which is for the benefit of the patient
himself.
The
Slovak Chamber of Dentists represents its members in relations to the bodies of
the state administration and local governments, various institutions and
organisation on the territory of the Slovak Republic. It represents its members
as a whole (profession and status) also in relation to the general public.
The
Chamber requests that the dentists perform their occupation professionally, in
compliance with the principles of the medical ethics and in a manner
provided for by law.
The
Chamber makes statements to the professional and ethical competence of the
dentists for the performance of their job related to their occupation.
The
Chamber deals with complaints regarding the violation of the medical ethic and
makes statements which are binding for the members of the Chamber regarding
professional and ethical issues of providing curing and preventive dentistry
treatment. In relation to the performance of the occupation it provides its
members with free legal advisory.
The
Chamber co-operates with the ministries of the Slovak Republic at ensuring the
professional development of its members and at professional supervision over the
performance of their occupation, at the creation of legal regulations that
relate to the performance of the dentists occupation, as well as at the creation
of all other generally binding legal regulations in the area of health care,
social and employment.
The
Slovak Chamber of Dentists represents the interests of its members and of the
Slovak dentistry abroad.
Since
1992 the Chamber is one of the ordinary member of FDI.
Since 2000 the Chamber is one of the ordinary member of
The Dental
Liaison Committee EU with the status Observer.
