Czech BEER ZUBR from Slovak Brewery URPIN

To the annual 100 liter per capita beer consumption in the Slovak Republic meaningfully contributes the Czech beer brewers. Fifteen Slovak breweries exports to the Czech Republic 50 thousand hectoliters of beer but from the other side of Morava River there is a 10 times larger inflow of such frothing potion. To direct beer import nowadays is supported by latest form of licensed production. Good example of such cooperation is between breweries Zubr Prerov (Czech Republic) and Urpin Banska Bystrica (Slovakia). They signed a contract on production of draught beer of Zubr brand. The Czech partner delivered to privately owned brewery of Pavel Čupka know-how and the technology enabling annual production of licensed Zubr in amount of 20 thousand hectoliters. In framework of allowed import quotas the brewery in Prerov supplies even a not specified quantity of bottled beer. An attempt to enter into business with Urpin Brewery was made already two years ago by Heineken company, whose specialist have checked the brewerys technology. Another interested party was producer of Pilsner Gambrinus brand beer. For unknown reasons the cooperation was not realized. The intention to sell the Urpin Brewery resulted from fact that its owner Pavel Čupka was not able to fulfill his obligations against banking houses, connected with the privatization Pavel Čupka have bought in the framework of small-scale-privatization the brewery for Sk 330 millions and another Sk 70 millions paid for existing supplies. Since he was not able to solve its obligations mostly toward Vseobecna Uverova Banka within four or six years respectively, he made a decision to settle the economic situation of his firm by its fusion with the mentioned Czech partner.
